Andy Kramer Petersen took the helm as president and chief executive officer of Banner Health Foundation in 2005. She is responsible for securing and stewarding charitable donations to advance Banner Health’s nonprofit mission of making a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care. In doing so, she oversees the volunteer boards of directors for Banner Health Foundation and Banner Alzheimer's Foundation.
Since joining Banner, Kramer Petersen’s team has secured more than $150 million to support vital community and hospital-based health and wellness programs and services. Simultaneously, she has increased awareness of Banner’s role as a nonprofit health system, aligned the organization with committed community partners, and been instrumental in securing philanthropic support on behalf of the patients, families and communities served by Banner.
Philanthropic contributions to Banner Health enhance patient care and help foster positive patient experiences. State-of-the-art medical equipment and technologies, injury and disease prevention, screening and treatment programs, as well as community health education initiatives are made possible by charitable contributions.
Aligning fundraising objectives with Banner’s strategic goals, Kramer Petersen has been instrumental in the creation and continuation of such vital community programs as school-based Health Centers, pediatric injury prevention, the Laura Dreier Breast Health Program, Banner Poison and Drug Information Center, nursing scholarships and more. She also has successfully launched and executed significant fundraising campaigns to support capital needs, programmatic costs and research endeavors related to pediatrics, oncology and Alzheimer’s disease.
Prior to joining Banner, Kramer Petersen served as senior vice president of Major Gifts and Planned Giving for Valley of the Sun United Way. In 2013, she was named Community Service Nonprofit Leader by the YWCA, and in 2010, Arizona Foothills magazine cited her as one of 10 "Women Who Move the Valley."
Kramer Petersen is a member of the Association of Healthcare Professionals, Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Health Management Academy. She has been involved with and/or served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Mothers’ Guild of Brophy College Preparatory and the University of Arizona Parents and Family Association.
