Don Evans, FACHE, CEO,
Banner Baywood Medical Center
Don Evans has served as CEO at Banner Baywood Medical Center since 2001. He is responsible for the operations of this 360 plus bed, general acute care hospital in east Mesa.
Evans has had a long career in Phoenix health care.
Before becoming CEO at Banner Baywood, he was chief operating officer and senior group vice president of Banner Health Arizona.
He was also CEO of Lutheran Healthcare Network in Mesa, Ariz., before it merged to become Banner Health. In 1992, he was named Executive of the Year by Lutheran Health Systems.
Previous to that, he was chief operating officer, assistant administrator at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah and director of hospital and clinical services, associate administrator, assistant administrator at National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colo.
He holds a master's degree in Health Administration, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, Colo. and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz.
He is a Board member of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association and his personal interests include bicycling, backpacking, reading, American Indian studies and toy-train collecting
