Jay Stallings, CEO of Washakie Medical Center
Jay Stallings began as Interim Chief Executive Officer for Washakie Medical Center in Worland, WY, in April 2014. He took the helm permanently in July 2014.
He comes to Worland from Mesa, AZ, where he served as associate administrator at Banner Desert Medical Center/Cardon Children’s Medical Center since 2003. He also has experience as an adjunct faculty member and executive in residence with the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, the Rural/Metro/Southwest Ambulance, Arizona Region and Tucson Medical Center/Health Partners of Southern Arizona.
Jay is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in German and Political science. He also received a master’s degree in business/leadership from Grand Canyon University. He is a native of southeast Idaho, born in the Snake River Valley community of Rexburg and lived the majority of his youth near Idaho Falls. He worked agriculture throughout his early years in potatoes, alfalfa, grain and sugar beets. In his teens he worked the harvests, moved irrigation pipe and held summer jobs in the sugar factory and in livestock operations. While in college, Jay spent a summer digging and forming concrete irrigation ditches near Worland and Greybull, which was his first experience in the Big Horn Basin.
