As Banner Health moves into a new era of health care, we will must work more closely than ever with our physicians.

We will need to strengthen our bonds achieve broad and integrated clinical excellence recognized at the highest national levels. Just as important will be our ability to work together to ensure a preferred and highly coordinated patient experience.

In this environment, Banner Health is attracted to working with physicians who are closely aligned with our vision of national leadership. These physicians can be private, independent physicians who practice in the community; contracted physicians who provide patient care in areas of the hospital such as the Emergency department or employed physicians, our most closely aligned group.

In the coming years, we anticipate more physicians will join Banner Medical Group because an increasing number of new doctors prefer the employed model or are concerned about the growing challenges of private practice. Banner Health will focus on strategies that will bring more primary-care physicians into our communities but we will also attract specialized physicians to ensure that all the community's medical needs are met.

We look to our closely aligned physicians to lead in our systemwide Care Transformation initiative to successfully deploy technological solutions within our clinical care environments. Thousands of Banner-aligned physicians have already modified their clinical practices to benefit from our enhanced medical records system that allows them to enter their orders electronically.
