Central Venous Catheter Insertion
Banner Simulation Education offers a course in central venous catheter (CVC) insertion for physicians.
We educate the practitioner on relevant indications, procedural aspects and complications of the operation and help generate the motor skills necessary for safe and efficient line placement.
The two-part curriculum is composed of independent and supervised direction.
Initially the student will review a computer-based didactic sessions well as a take-home journal article. After passing a qualifying examination, the student will participate in an in-class didactic session and line placement exercise.
The course culminates with the student undergoing a rigorous evaluation of motor skills and assessment of competence with regards to the encompassing procedural aspects related to central line placement.
