A gift of warmth to last a lifetime

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Sept. 23, 2009) --Every baby born at Banner Health Community Hospital in Torrington receives a special gift - one that will last a lifetime.
In June of 2007, Banner Health’s Community Hospital Auxiliary in Torrington began a project to provide every baby born at the hospital with a hand crafted baby blanket.
Auxiliary member Isabel Blunsom said the auxiliary asked the community for support in June of 2007, and by May of 2008, blankets were ready for distribution.
Community Hospital Public Relations Specialist and project liaison for the auxiliary, Jocelyn Leithead, said her baby, Hadley, received the first blanket on May 16, 2008, but the first official blanket was given on June 1, 2008.
