Banner Lassen Medical Center to welcome new CNO
SUSANVILLE, CA (May 9, 2014) –Banner Lassen Medical Center has named Kathy Virgil-Belding, MA, BS, CRNC, as the chief nursing officer for the hospital.
Belding begins duties as the hospital’s top nursing leader June 9. Chief Executive Officer Catherine Harshbarger has been serving in a dual capacity as CEO and CNO since fall 2013.
Belding comes to Banner Lassen from Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis, WY, where she served as interim CNO and chief quality officer for the 25-bed critical access hospital. She has worked in interim leadership roles for a number of small, medium and large hospitals in Wyoming, Alaska, Washington, and Idaho while serving as CEO and senior principal/professional consultant for Belding, Jenner, Kaprocki & Denend Health Care Consulting. She has more than 40 years of progressive and diverse leadership experience in public health, private practice partnerships and acute care service line development and administration.

Belding received her associate’s degree in nursing from Ricks College of Nursing in Rexburg, Idaho; bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Adventist University in Orlando, and her master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix in Orlando.
