Banner Lassen Medical Center Hires Hospitalist Group
SUSANVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 12, 2009) -- Banner Lassen Medical Center has joined with Rural Physicians Group out of Las Vegas, Nev. to provide a new inpatient physician service to the residents of Northeastern California.
The Rural Physician’s Group consists of several board-certified internists who deal with complex medical issues and have approximately 90 years of combined experience.
Rural Physician’s Group have practiced together for more than 10 years. These physicians are called hospitalists and prefer to work with patients who are in the hospital instead of working in clinics or private practice. Banner Lassen Medical Center will have a hospitalist on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A hospitalist provides a high level of one-on-one care during a hospital stay and is easily accessible to the hospital staff, patient, and family members, which allows your regular doctor to be with you in the office with fewer delays and interruptions. Hospitalists provide a personal link between you and your doctor by ensuring that your doctor is informed and involved in your hospital treatment.
The hospitalists wants to keep your primary care doctor informed of your care while you are in the hospital. They accomplish that by communicating with your primary care doctor and receiving all relevant medical records.
Hospitalists want to make your hospital stay as pleasant and beneficial as possible while providing you with the highest quality of care possible.
At Banner Lassen Medical Center, we believe that having a hospitalist on duty provides a focused experience in caring for patients in the hospital as well as improving the continuity of care. The hospitalist can pay close attention to any change in the patient’s condition and take care of it right away; the hospitalist is in the hospital the majority of the day and night, and a hospitalist is available to you and your family at all times.
