Blood Drive Scheduled for Sept. 2

BRUSH, Colo. (Aug. 13, 2009) – East Morgan County Hospital will be holding a blood drive on Sept. 2 at the hospital.  “Donating blood gives back to our community and helps our patients when they need a transfusion,” said Connie Hume, blood bank supervisor at East Morgan County Hospital.  “On average a transfusion for a patient will require two units.”

The North Colorado Medical Center Mobile Blood Bank will be on site in the north parking lot, Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. to draw blood. To schedule an appointment call Connie Hume at (970) 842-6257, appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcomed.

The units donated will go into inventory and are used for our patients needing transfusions said Hume. Currently, there is a shortage and it is hard to keep specific units stocked.

For more information contact Connie Hume at East Morgan County Hospital (970) 842-6257.
