Community Hospital recruits respiratory care leader

Steven Bouffard

TORRINGTON, WY (April 29, 2014) – The new Senior Manager of Diagnostics at Community Hospital brings 30 years of experience in health care and a desire to deliver excellent patient care to his new role.

Steven M. Bouffard, RRT-ACCS, CPHQ, joined the hospital staff earlier this year in January. He is a Registered Respiratory Therapist-Adult Critical Care Specialist and a Certified Professional in Health care Quality. Since January, Bouffard has been getting to know the community as well as the hospital, its processes and the professionals within the multiple departments that he oversees.

Bouffard leads the Medical Imaging Department with oversight responsibility for Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI and Mammography services. He also oversees the hospital’s Respiratory Care Services Department, which includes a sleep lab and pulmonary function lab.

Bouffard graduated from the University of New Mexico and due to the fact that his wife was serving in the United States Air Force (a retired Lieutenant Colonel, herself), he has practiced in many different areas of the country, most recently, with Florida Hospital in Tampa, FL, where he was the Director of Clinical Ancillary Services for Florida Hospital at Connerton.

“I’ve practiced in some very large hospitals and organizations but now I want to focus on practicing and connecting on a more individual basis with patients and staff,” Bouffard said. “The leaders here are very clear about the direction of this hospital and their expectations regarding the level of care and patient experience they want to provide.”

Bouffard said he often thinks about how he would want his family members treated if they were in need of care.” It shouldn’t matter – Hartford, CT, Tampa, FL, Phoenix, AZ or Torrington, WY. The standards are the same. I want to play an active part in delivering the highest level of care possible and be part of providing the best possible patient experience.”

Community Hospital in Torrington is operated by Banner Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health care systems with 24 hospitals in seven states. Community Hospital opened in 1977 and offers obstetrics, general surgery, oncology, inpatient and outpatient diagnostics, community wellness and Emergency care.
