Deadline extended for golf event to help Banner Thunderbird's smallest patients

GLENDALE, Ariz. – (Oct. 9, 2009) – Non-profit Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is seeking players and sponsors for its annual Charity Golf Classic on Nov.16.  The annual golf classic is a four-person scramble at Arrowhead Country Club held in honor of the hospital’s late Chief Medical Officer Ted Laughlin and benefits Banner Thunderbird Children’s Center.

The deadline to register players and sponsorships has been extended to Nov. 6, 2009.

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is having its annual charity golf tournament to support the growing Banner Thunderbird Children’s Center which includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and this winter will add a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Banner Thunderbird Children’s Center provides pediatric care for children from birth to 17 years of age. The highly skilled and compassionate staff assures parents their children receive the best possible care – meeting the diverse childhood health care needs that exist today.

By participating in the golf tournament your sponsorship, entry fee or raffle item will benefit the smallest patients at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center through funding expanded therapeutic play areas as part of our Child Life program which provides children with specialized care and attention while they have to be in the hospital.

To get a player registration form, for information about tax-deductible sponsorships or to learn about tax deductible raffle item donation opportunities, call Terry Edgington at (602) 865-3919 or e-mail.
