McKee Medical Center facilities director recognized by national association
LOVELAND, Colo. (Oct. 29, 2009) –Jim Revis, McKee Medical Center’s director of facilities services, has earned the designation of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager by the American Hospital Association.
The certification is a national credential that distinguishes Revis as being among the elite in the critical field of health care facility management.
Revis, who joined McKee Medical Center in December 2008, has focused on upgrading and improving McKee’s facilities to stay in compliance with guidelines established by The Joint Commission and for surveys by the state of Colorado. He also participates in a variety of hospital committees devoted to improving patient satisfaction and has overseen projects to renovate workstations to accommodate a new electronic medical record system and new medical imaging technology.
Revis is originally from South Carolina and has previous work experience as a facility services director in hospital and university settings. He is also a former practicing attorney and has a a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in industrial management. He is currently a member of the Colorado Association of Healthcare Engineers and Directors.
To earn the healthcare facility manager certification, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that include a blend of work experience and education. Candidates also must adhere to professional standards of conduct and pass and exam. The test requires knowledge of health care risk management in the areas of compliance, planning, design and construction, maintenance and operations, finance and administration.
