LOVELAND, Colo. (August 7, 2008) – Amy Searls started Aug. 4 at McKee Medical Center as the new Service Excellence Director.

In that role, Amy coordinates aspects of promoting patient satisfaction and employee engagement. The Service Excellence Director provides education and leadership to all hospital employees related to the delivery of outstanding customer service. Amy also supports many of the events offered to celebrate with the community and uplift staff members.

Amy comes to McKee from St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich., a 340-bed hospital working in guest services and overseeing multiple ancillary service departments.

While at St. Mary’s, Amy worked with the opening of a new cancer center. She helped create a guest services methodology to interview patients and families about their experience. This program was rolled out to the whole hospital and prompted the creation of service excellence teams. She also promoted team, education and excellence throughout the hospital.

At McKee, Amy said she will build on the foundation of excellence that employees have created and hopes to help McKee win Best of the Best again. In April, McKee was named Best of the Best among Banner Health hospitals. Banner Health is the nonprofit health care system based in Phoenix that owns the McKee Medical Center.
