NCMC Spirit of Women Girls’ Night Out presents: When I was a Girl – I Dreamed
GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 14, 2009) — North Colorado Medical Center’s Spirit of Women will host an evening of dreams for their fourth annual Spirit Girls’ Night Out on Oct. 13: Dreams of better health, harmony through the arts and approaching life with humor; featuring the comedic actresses who co-authored the hit show, Girls Only – The Secret Comedy of Women.
Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein wrote Girls Only – The Secret Comedy of Women to celebrate the honor, truth and humor of being female. It was born out of the writings the two authors discovered in their girlhood diaries. The actresses plan to speak about their successes in show business and the fun of improvisational comedy, as well as perform several excerpts from their show.
Girls Only is a production of The Denver Center for the Performing Arts and is playing at the Garner Galleria Theatre in Denver.
The evening will also provide an opportunity to learn more about women’s health issues and discover the latest diagnostic procedures, tests, treatments and equipment related to women’s health. Practitioners from a variety of specialties will be on hand to answer health questions. Information about the current flu season, the H1N1 virus and schedules of upcoming flu vaccination clinics will also be available.
Spirit of Women guests will gather from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center at 701 Eighth St. in Greeley. A portion of the $15 admission fee will be used to support funds for mammograms for underinsured and uninsured working women in northern Colorado. Appetizers and dessert will be served.
Art, sculpture, music and photography from a variety of local artists may also be enjoyed throughout the evening.
