National breast health group recognizes care at NCMC Breast Center

GREELEY, Colo. (Aug. 18, 2008) — North Colorado Medical Center has been recognized as a Certified Participant of the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program.

The honor represents a commitment by NCMC to provide the highest level of quality breast health care to patients in the community.

Measuring and comparing quality performance is essential in assessing patient care and allocating resources where improvement is desired. In today’s health care industry, breast centers are faced with providing quality care while at the same time trying to keep costs under control. A center’s staff must not only be familiar with existing standards of care, but must also be aware of advances in technology. The Breast Center at NCMC has taken a major step to ensure they provide the best possible quality care to breast patients in their community.

The Breast Center, located in Summit View Medical Commons, 2001 70th Ave. in Greeley, offers the latest diagnostic technology for breast and bone health as well as careful attention to a patient’s needs and comfort.

Procedures provided at the Breast Center include ultrasound guided, stereotactic and MRI biopsies, bone densitometry, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, cyst aspiration, ductogram, needle localization, screening and diagnostic digital mammograms and sentinel lymph node biopsy procedures.

The National Consortium of Breast Centers is proud to recognize NCMC as a Certified Participant in the NQMBC program. The Breast Center at Summit View Medical Commons will continue in its commitment to provide the highest quality care to its patients and now begins the process to become a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence.
