Candle Lighting Vigil Remembers Children Who Have Died
McKee Medical Center to participate in world-wide event

The McKee Medical Center Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of The Compassionate Friends and Hospice of Larimer County will host a candle lighting vigil for individuals, from throughout northern Colorado, who have lost a child to death. The vigil will be held at McKee Medical Center, 2000 Boise Ave., Loveland, on Sunday, Dec. 12. Participants will gather in the McKee Conference and Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m. and follow a bagpipe processional to the candle lighting, to be held at the Angel for Lost Children statue on the McKee Wellness and Nature Walk.
The second Sunday in December is National Children's Memorial Day. Each year on this day, a worldwide candle lighting vigil is held. Beginning in New Zealand and moving through every time zone, candles are lit from 7 – 8 p.m. Candles will burn for 24 hours around the world in memory of children who have died.
Individuals who have lost a child, their families, and friends are invited to attend the vigil and remember and honor the memory of children who have passed away. If you would like to have a child's name written on one of the luminaries that will be lighting the pathway, free of charge, please call (970) 635-4007 by Dec. 9.
Weatherproof "pen light" candles will be provided. If you prefer, you may bring your own candle. For further information, please call (970) 635-4007.
