Banner Estrella voted Best of 2004 by Southwest Contractor magazine
"Designers and contractors took a bold new tack in hospital design at the new Banner Estrella Medical Center on Phoenix's west side."
That's how Southwest Contractor described Banner Health's newest hospital in its December issue, where Banner Estrella was recognized as a 'Best of 2004' project in the category of private project over $5 million.
Banner Estrella was featured in a full-page article that highlighted the unique design, architecture and construction of the new hospital, one of seven hospitals owned and operated by Banner Health in the Valley. The article praised the use of eclectic materials, including concrete, metal ribbed wall panels, glass curtain walls and copper cladding, in the West valley hospital's design and construction.
"We sought to create a hospital that was aesthetically pleasing to our staff and our visitors, yet contributed to a healing environment for our patients," said CEO Connie Harmsen. "I'm pleased to see those efforts are already attracting attention and recognition.
"This award from Southwest Contractor acknowledges and recognizes all of the thought and creativity that went into the designing and constructing this magnificent hospital and, for that, we're grateful."
The entire article can be found on page 25 of the Dec. issue of Southwest Contractor magazine.
