New Legacy Award program recognizes excellence at Banner Baywood Medical Center

MESA, Ariz. (May 28, 2008) -- Since 1984, Banner Baywood Medical Center has been building a legacy in the East Valley. In addition to a full range of clinical and specialty programs we are embarking on our 2010 vision of being Banner Health’s leader in innovative and comprehensive adult care.
We recognize that our staff, physician partners and community partners play an instrumental role in building our legacy, so we have established the Legacy Awards to acknowledge the efforts of those who help us live our vision.
Purpose
To recognize the exceptional contributions of staff, volunteers, physicians and community partners in Banner Baywood Medical Center’s commitment to our values of compassion, integrity, emphasis on people, community partnership and excellence.
Overview/Criteria
Legacy Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Community Enrichment – Recipient will be an employee, volunteer or physician who has demonstrated extraordinary achievements in the area of community service (domestic or abroad).
- Community Partner – Recipient will be a member of the Mesa community who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to partnerships with Banner Baywood Medical Center that strengthen our community.
- Innovator – Recipient will be an employee, volunteer or physician who has demonstrated a commitment to developing innovative approaches (programs, services, products) for to improving quality, service, operations or learning at our hospital.
- Mission Award – Recipient will be an employee, volunteer or physician who demonstrates an ongoing commitment to the Banner Health mission of making a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care.
- Norma Mercer Lifetime Achievement – Recipient will demonstrate sustained superior leadership in the Banner Health values of compassion, integrity, emphasis on people, community partnership and excellence.
Application Timeframe
Applications will be accepted in our Administration Office until September 15, 2008. Recipients will be announced at our annual Legacy Award & Anniversary Celebration in January 2009.
