Banner Health and NCMC, Inc. file medical campus development plan in Frederick, Colo.

GREELEY, Colo. (April 11, 2008) — NCMC, Inc., the Board of Directors for North Colorado Medical Center, has contracted with the Frederick Development Group to purchase 50 acres of land near the intersection of I25 and SH-52 in Frederick in southern Weld County for development as a medical campus. Closing on the land purchase is anticipated by mid-summer 2008.

As part of the due-diligence stage of the land acquisition process, NCMC, Inc. and Banner Health, operator of NCMC, Inc.’s medical facilities and services, have submitted plans for the development of the medical campus on the property to the Town of Frederick for review and approval. “The Frederick and surrounding areas are among the fastest growing in the county,” said Ken Schultz, Chairman of NCMC, Inc. “We feel that the time is right to provide convenient, high-quality medical services to the residents in that area.”

The plans call for the campus to be built in phases beginning with emergency and medical imaging facilities, a medical office building for physician offices and support services and landing area for the North Colorado Med Evac air transport helicopter program. As proposed in the development plan, the second phase would include a second medical office building, diagnostic and treatment centers, ambulatory surgery facilities, a heliport and hangar and a multi-story tower for inpatient care services.

“This is a long-term project and commitment by NCMC, Inc. and Banner Health,” Shultz said. “Specific facilities and services will be developed as the population and other development in this part of the county expands.”

NCMC, Inc. owns medical facilities throughout Weld County including North Colorado Medical Center (Greeley); primary care physician clinics in Eaton, Johnstown and Windsor; and Summit View Medical Commons (Greeley). The facilities and services are managed and operated through a long-term partnership with Banner Health (Phoenix, AZ). Banner Health is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit healthcare organizations.

“We are proud to have been NCMC, Inc.’s partner in meeting health care needs in northern Colorado for the past eight years,” said Jim Ferando, president of Banner Health’s Western Region. “We look forward to working together to develop facilities that will enable us to provide a variety of services and excellent patient care well into the future.”

The development plan review and approval process is anticipated to take approximately three months. The contracted purchase price of the land is not being released at this time.

“We are very proud to welcome NCMC, Inc. and Banner Health to the Town of Frederick,” said Mayor Eric Doering. “Filling a service need that has long been absent from the Carbon Valley community, the proposed medical campus will also bring a large number of high-quality primary jobs to Frederick. I’m very happy for the opportunity that our Town has had to work with the NCMC, Inc. Board of Directors, Banner Health and Community Development Group over the last several months as this economic development and community service enhancement has become a reality. I look forward to the day that it opens its doors and begins serving the rapidly increasing population of southwestern Weld County.”
