North Colorado Medical Center wellness offers alternative yoga class
GREELEY, Colo. (Oct. 29, 2008) – North Colorado Medical Center’s Wellness Services invites students to join Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Robin Briggs for a new series of yoga classes starting in December.
The Restorative Yoga classes will focus on gentle movements coordinated with breathing exercises to facilitate greater range of motion, flexibility and relaxation. Briggs will introduce Classic Yoga poses using supportive aids to teach alignment, encourage mind body connection, and increase personal awareness. She will include modifications of poses to address the full spectrum of student needs to learn a safe and effective way to practice Yoga with a personalized approach.
This class will allow students to practice Yoga in a nurturing environment with focus on individual needs, lots of encouragement and patience. Students with any level of physical ability are welcome.
Classes are Mondays, Dec. 1 through Jan. 12 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. at NCMC Union Colony Room (Service Level), 1801 16th St. There is no charge for the Dec. 1 class. To participate in the remaining six weeks, the fee is $48. To register, call (970) 350-6633.
Robin Briggs, received her 200-hour certification to teach Yoga at the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat in Boulder. The Shoshoni Yoga School is registered with the Yoga Alliance which only recognizes schools that address the highest standards, assuring graduates are well qualified to teach the practicing public. In 2009 Robin will complete her 500-hour advanced teacher certification with an emphasis on Yoga Therapy.
Robin has taught at North Colorado Medical Center for two years and loves sharing Yoga with students for the therapeutic and strength building benefits that it provides.
