Alzheimer’s Institute offers educational workshop for caregivers
PHOENIX (Jan. 13, 2009) — Caregiving for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or related dementia can be overwhelming. That’s why Banner Alzheimer’s Institute has created a two-day workshop to help caregivers be more effective and resourceful in their day-to-day roles.
The nationally-recognized staff from Banner Alzheimer’s Institute will help caregivers develop a roadmap for successful caregiving in this Memory Assistance and Planning Services (MAPS) class.
Participants who attend the MAPS workshop will gain an understanding of the progression of dementia, treatment options, communication strategies, techniques for coping with challenging behaviors, community resources, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network and share ideas with other caregivers.
