Banner Alzheimer’s residence offers holiday respite care

PHOENIX (Nov. 17, 2009) – Taking care of a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is especially challenging during the holiday season.

Banner Alzheimer’s Residence in Peoria provides respite care on a per-diem basis for people with dementia, during the holidays and throughout the year.

Our caretakers are certified caregivers intimately familiar with the needs of people suffering from dementia and our facility is designed to meet those special needs.

“Respite care can give a much-needed break from the emotional and physical stresses of round-the-clock caregiving,’’ said Kay Spofford, RN, director of the residence.

“We think respite care is especially important during the holidays, which by their very nature, can be busy, stressful times,’’ she said.

For more information or to schedule respite care, please contact Spofford at (623) 832-2700.

The Banner Alzheimer's Residence -- Honoring Mr. & Mrs. Robert J. Hoover is licensed by the state of Arizona as an assisted-living facility to provide care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia.

Our Peoria facility is quiet and peaceful, with safe access to outdoor areas with fenced-in patios.

We are a member of Arizona chapter of Assisted Living Federation of America.
