Dennis Dahlen named Chief Financial Officer

PHOENIX (June 16, 2009) – Dennis Dahlen has been named chief financial officer for Banner Health, effective immediately.

Since 2006, Dahlen was senior vice president of finance for Banner Health.

In making the announcement, President Peter S. Fine praised Dahlen’s financial guidance of the nonprofit organization. “This change in title recognizes Dennis’ excellent financial leadership. In the past year, Dennis and his team spearheaded efforts to reduce expenses in the face of challenging economic times, restructured Banner’s debt, quickly changed capital priorities, implemented effective managed care strategies and tightly managed Banner’s liquidity position,’’ Fine said.

Dahlen joined one of the organizations that now form Banner Health as an internal auditor in 1983.  He was named vice president of Finance in 2000.

Prior to joining the Banner organization, he was an auditor for the accounting firm of McGladrey Pullen.

Dahlen received his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of North Dakota in 1982 and his master's in business administration from Minnesota State University in 1986.  He received his CPA license in 1982
