BRUSH, Colo. (May 22, 2009) – East Morgan County Hospital (EMCH) is taking a step toward improving the health and wellness of its employees, medical staff, patients, and their families.

Beginning Monday, June 1, 2009, EMCH will become a tobacco-free campus.  From that time forward, all forms of tobacco use will be prohibited within our hospital, on our hospital grounds and at all of our off-site facilities.

Hospital leadership recognizes that this transition may be difficult for many individuals and are committed to supporting employees, visitors and patients. Assistance programs have been provides to employees, as they make the transition to a tobacco-free environment. Callers are linked with trained counselors, who can help individuals develop a quit plan/method that fits their unique tobacco use pattern. Another option is My Time To Quit, a website designed to understand why it is hard to quit and assistance in developing a plan to quit www.mytimetoquit.com. We appreciate your dedication to providing the best environment possible for our patients.
