East Morgan County Hospital mammogrphy passes state review

BRUSH, Colo. (Feb.19, 2009) – The Radiology Mammography department at East Morgan County Hospital has passed the Mammography Quality Standards Act State inspection for CR Digital Mammography with zero deficiencies. This is the only CR Digital Mammography unit in Morgan County.
Shaylene Allart, Lead Mammography technician, is responsible for the complying with the MQSA regulations at East Morgan County Hospital.
During this inspection, the state reviews all of the department’s documentation. This consists of the quality of care, quality control, instrument maintenance, letters to patients, follow-up letters, quality of exams including the imagery, and number of continuing-education hours for each technician over a three-year period.
“This is a big accomplishment for our Radiology department. It is very difficult to pass this inspection with zero deficiencies. The state scrutinizes everything we do,” Allart said.

CR Digital Mammography captures the picture digitally and allows it to be visualized in seconds. This cutting-edge technology is beneficial because it lowers the levels of radiation exposure, shorter exam times and enhanced clarity, especially for women with dense breasts.
