Heart Failure Clinic set to open at McKee Medical Center

LOVELAND, Colo.  (May 28, 2009) – Patients diagnosed with heart failure can count on the new Heart Failure Clinic at McKee Medical Center to help them monitor symptoms, teach them how to manage the symptoms and ease concerns about their condition.

The Heart Failure Clinic in the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado will begin seeing patients June 2. The clinic hours are 1-5 p.m. every Tuesday. The clinic is located in the Seven Lakes Professional Plaza, 1900 N. Boise Ave., Suite 200.

“Research has shown that heart failure patients involved in intensive disease management programs have fewer hospitalizations, improved quality of life and even lower mortality rates than other heart failure patients,” said Missy Jensen, nurse practitioner and heart failure clinic coordinator. “The new Heart Failure Clinic provides Loveland patients with more opportunity and help to manage their conditions.”

The Heart Failure Clinic will offer patients ease of mind with convenient appointments and short wait times. While the multi-disciplinary care team at the clinic will manage the patients’ heart problems, the patient still will see his or her primary care physician to track other health concerns.

Other benefits the staff at the clinic can provide include medication management and education and management of nutrition and daily symptoms.

A physician’s referral to the clinic is required. For more information, please call (970) 203-2411.
