McKee Medical Center awards health care scholarships
LOVELAND, Colo. (May 29, 2009) – McKee Medical Center has announced the recipients of eight health career scholarships for adults and students for 2009. McKee funds these scholarships with contributions specifically for this purpose.
Contributors to the scholarship fund include the McKee Medical Center Foundation and the McKee Volunteers. The scholarships total $20,000.
The recipients in the adult learner category are ZaFawn Coats and Jodi Valencia.
Additionally, high school seniors were awarded scholarships. They are Hallie Groenewald from Berthoud High School, Katie Benjamin and James Schweitzer from Loveland High School, Maria Wahl from Thompson Valley High School and Ashley Gillespie from Ferguson High School.
McKee Medical Center also awards scholarships to employees’ children. A scholarship in this category was presented to Steven Drake.
Scholarships from McKee Medical Center have been offered since 1989. Total scholarships of $313,000 have been given since the program’s inception. Scholarships are presented to individuals in a health care related field of study.
