Ogallala RN honored with Caring Kind Award

LINCOLN, Neb (Nov. 2, 2009)—For 30 years, the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) has paid tribute to Nebraska's most caring hospital workers with the Caring Kind award. Sandy Deckert, RN, of Banner Health Ogallala Medical Group was one of the 72 people honored at the 30th Anniversary of the Caring Kind Awards Luncheon held on Oct. 16 at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.

"Sandy exemplifies what a professional nurse should be in every way possible. She is caring, kind and always polite. She shows empathy and concern about anything that is presented to her. She always has a smile for everyone and will go out of her way to help you out. She is a role model to all in the profession of nursing. She is trustworthy and loyal, and the first to lend a hand. She most definitely is a caring and kind nurse, and well deserving of this outstanding award” says Deanna Wolford, Dietary Manager, who made the nomination.

This prestigious award honors outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities. Hospitals across the state select one Caring Kind recipient from within their respective institutions to be recognized during the NHA Annual Convention.

More than 1700 dedicated health care professionals have received this award since its inception in1979. “The tremendous efforts these individuals put forth enable health care facilities to care for their communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said NHA President, Laura J. Redoutey, FACHE. “Caring Kind recipients unselfishly take on the challenge and responsibility of meeting the needs of patients and delivering exceptional quality health care services every day.”
