PHOENIX (March 11, 2009) – Page Hospital received the 2009 RED (Real Estate and Development) award for “Best Medical Project” from the Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine.

Designed according to Planetree principals, with windows in all treatment rooms, and a variety of openings into private garden spaces, Banner's Page Hospital is committed to developing and implementing patient-centered care in healing environments.  The facility’s philosophy of care is centered on a holistic approach.

Sandy Haryasz, CEO of Banner Page Hospital, explains how the new Emergency department is in line with this philosophy, saying, “the design elements, such as geometries influenced by nature, healing colors and textures, open nurses stations and abundant natural light, work to further our commitment to creating a healthcare environment that touches patients on all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.”

The Page Hospital expansion included a nine-bed, 10,000-square-foot Emergency department addition with six treatment bays, two trauma bays and a hospital entry. Guthrie General, Inc. served as the project’s General Contractor and SmithGroup, Inc. was the architect and engineering firm.
