Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb go wireless
SUN CITY, Ariz. (Aug. 17, 2010) – By the end of August, Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers will make it easier for patients, families and friends to communicate by providing free internet access during their stay.
“Communication means everything when a loved one is in the hospital,” explained John Harrington, chief executive officer at the nonprofit Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center. “We understand the importance of everyone staying connected and how that contributes to excellent patient care.”
“Although the internet access is free, the benefits are priceless because communication is among the most important aspects of the care we provide – among staff, patients and families – and enhances the patient experience,” said Dave Cheney, chief executive officer at the nonprofit Banner Boswell Medical Center.
The Internet gives patients, families and guests an easy way to stay connected with the outside world while in the hospital. Having the Internet available allows access to email, Facebook, Twitter and even Banner Health’s new CarePages, a free service accessed on www.bannerhealth.com that offers patients the opportunity to keep friends and family updated regarding their health status.
A guest wireless network account will be automatically generated when a patient is admitted- complete with instructions for logging on. The account is deactivated when the patient leaves the hospital.
