PHOENIX, Ariz. (Oct. 6, 2010) – Banner Estrella Medical Center invites women to come learn the latest on the various aspects of breast health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast surgeons Kimberli Cox, MD and Rimma Finkel, MD will discuss the “10 Myths about Breast Cancer and Breast Reconstruction” from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 at Rio Vista Recreation Center in Peoria, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road, inside Rio Vista Community Park. Pre-register for this free and informative event by calling (602) 230-CARE (2273).
During the free seminar, attendees will hear an overview of breast health and learn how medical experts at Banner Health are offering hope to patients and families with new ways to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, more than 250,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year in the United States. However, the good news is that deaths from breast cancer are declining due to treatment advances, earlier detection through screening and increased awareness.
