Dr. Carol Vanetti receives national leadership award

GREELEY, Colo. (Aug. 16, 2009) – Carol Vanetti, MD, chief medical officer for Banner Health’s Western Region, has received the National Association of Medical Staff Services Leadership Award.

“Each year we bestow this award to a physician or healthcare administrator who is serving or has served in a leadership position on a hospital staff or healthcare organization and who has demonstrated exceptional support for NAMSS or for the activities and role of the medical services professional,” explained the NAMSS board of directors in a congratulatory message.

Dr. Vanetti was nominated for the award by medical staff services offices across Banner Health. Healthcare leaders each year are nominated by members of the 6,600-plus NAMSS organization based upon the following criteria:

• Demonstrated support for the activities and role of the medical services professional.
• Encouragement and enthusiasm for the work of the National Medical Staff Services.
• Commitment to the organizational goals of the healthcare organization and/or the medical/provider staff.
• Qualities of leadership and statesmanship exhibited for the benefit of the healthcare organization and medical/provider staff.

Dr. Vanetti will be formally recognized by the NAMSS at its annual convention and exhibition Oct. 5 in Orlando, Fla.
