The disease affects areas of the brain involved in memory, cognition, judgment, language and behavior.
The free workshop will include session’s entitled Memory loss 101 and Updates and Trends in Alzheimer’s Research.
- Memory Loss 101: What is the difference between age-related memory loss and dementia? What is the difference between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia? What happens during a clinical work up? What can you do to help prevent memory loss?
- Trailblazing Arizona: Updates and Trends in Alzheimer’s Research. What have we learned?
Hear from some of the most knowledgeable dementia experts in the field about the latest progress and trends in AD research, including new studies coming to Arizona.
“We encourage patients and caregivers to learn more about the disease and clinical studies, as clinical research is vitally important to understanding how we can better treat and prevent Alzheimer’s disease,” said Pierre Tariot M.D., director, Memory Disorders Center at Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. “Researchers are making tremendous progress in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Numerous studies are planned that could result in new ways to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s.”
