Banner Thunderbird is ‘Keepin’ it Real’ with health info for teens and parents

GLENDALE, Ariz. (March 29, 2010) – Parents of teens often struggle through important discussions about sex, drugs, eating disorders and depression. But experts from Banner Thunderbird Medical Center’s Women and Infant Services department and Banner Thunderbird Children’s Center are here to help. 

The nonprofit hospital is hosting a free event called the “Keepin’ it Real” Teen Health Event. The event is on Sat. April 17, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in conference rooms 1, 2, 3 and 5, located at the East end, lower level of the hospital. 

The event consists of concurrent, separate sessions for high school-aged teens and parents/guardians of teens.  Issues such as teen sexual health, body acceptance, STDs, depression/suicide, drugs and Internet safety will be discussed with expert information and resources available. Lunch will be provided and great raffle prizes will be given away.
