Life changes happen in North Colorado Medical Center Body Shoppe

GREELEY, Colo. (May 3, 2010) — Get in shape this summer and develop healthy habits to last a lifetime in Body Shoppe, a 12-week lifestyle change program sponsored by the Cardiac Rehab Program of North Colorado Medical Center.

Body Shoppe includes regular exercise and eight education classes that include practical tips on healthy eating, a cooking class, stress management and ways to maintain your motivation. Before the program begins, participants will have tests that include: stress testing, lipid testing, flexibility and body fat measurement.

Based on your results, you will get an exercise prescription. Exercise specialists will guide you during your one-hour exercise sessions. Then participants exercise up to five times per week at any of four class times that fit each individual’s schedule. As an incentive, participants who attend 85 percent of the sessions will receive follow-up fitness testing free.

The cost is $299 per person (an $800 value) or $500 per couple. The class is limited to 20 people. Testing begins June 1, and the program starts June 15 with a class presented by cardiologist Jim Beckmann, MD, from the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado. Call (970) 350-6204 for details on the program schedule and to register.
