NCMC invites community to Dinner with a Endocrinologist
GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 30, 2010) — An endocrinologist will talk with area residents about “Diabetes: How Sweet It Isn’t” at a Dinner with an Endocrinologist event Nov. 2.
The dinner features North Colorado Medical Center Endocrinology Clinic specialist Nirmala Kumar,MD. It is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Aims Corporate Center, 5590 W. 11th St. in Greeley. Dr. Kumar will speak about the signs, symptoms and treatment of diabetes.
The dinner is $10 per person. Pre-registration is required by calling (970) 378-4456. Space is limited.
Dr. Kumar attended medical school in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Karnataka University in India. She was a clinical fellow/research fellow in endocrinology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver from 1994 to 1997 and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit from 1991 to 1994.
Dr. Kumar is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, metabolism, and diabetes. She has been the medical director of the endocrinology clinic since 2007 when she joined Banner Health.
Prior to joining Banner health, she was an assistant clinical professor, Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes at CU; an active member of the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board at CU and a member of the Clinical Faculty in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Denver.
