New CEO named for Community Hospital

 

Vincent DiFrancoTORRINGTON, Wyo. (Nov. 22, 2010) - Jim Ferando, Banner Health Western Region president, has named Vincent B. DiFranco as chief executive officer for Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo. DiFranco will assume the role at the end of December.

“We are pleased to have Vince join our Community Hospital and Banner Health team,” Ferando said. “He is a seasoned professional with many years of senior leadership experience in small and mid-sized hospitals throughout the Southeast United States. During his career Vince has illustrated his ability to lead hospital teams to high performance and exceptional patient care.”

"I am extremely impressed with the support Banner Health has provided to Community Hospital and the investment in the facilities and equipment,” DiFranco said. “The quality of the local physicians and staff was very apparent during my visits to the community and I look forward to continuing to develop programs and services to best make Community Hospital and Goshen Care Center outstanding providers of healthcare services."

DiFranco comes to Torrington from Monroeville, Ala., where he has worked for Quorum Health Resources (QHR), a healthcare management/consulting company, for more than a decade. During his tenure with QHR, he has served in a number of hospital leadership roles, most recently as CEO at Monroe County Hospital, a 92-bed county-owned facility. While serving as CEO there from March 2008 to August 2010, DiFranco directed a number of improvements, including implementation of leading-edge technology and programs for cancer patients, recruitment of physicians in numerous specialties, and development of a service excellence program that resulted in increased patient satisfaction. Monroe County Hospital was named a Top 100 “Best in Value” in 2009 by Data Advantage.

In addition, DiFranco has served as CEO for Mena Regional Health System, a 65-bed hospital in Arkansas; Wills Memorial Hospital, a 50-bed facility, in Georgia; and COO of East Georgia Regional Medical Center, 150-bed facility, where he served as administrative officer for ancillary and support departments including radiology, laboratory, cardiopulmonary services, rehabilitation, home health, plant services, food service, environmental services and biomedical engineering.

DiFranco was a member of the adjunct faculty at Georgia Southern University in 2001, where he served as an instructor for a healthcare finance course, master’s degree program, in the Department of Health and Kinesiology.

He received his bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Michigan in 1984, and his master of science in health administration from the University of North Carolina in 1986.

He and his wife, Brandy have three children in the home: Sarah, 14; Zane, 6; and Violet, 2 months.
