Schock Named Woman of Distinction

LOVELAND, Colo. (Aug. 19, 2010) -- The Northern Colorado Business Report honored McKee CEO Marilyn Schock with a Women of Distinction award during its annual breakfas.

The award is given to women committed to the northern Colorado community who exemplify the best of success.

Schock,was named the hospital’s chief executive officer in late 2009.

She came to the position with more than 23 years of increasing leadership roles at Banner Health. She began her career in 1986 as a staff occupational therapist at McKee Medical Center.

Schock was one of 12 recipients and the only woman honored in the health care category. 

McKee Medical Center Foundation President Julie Johnson Haffner and Julianne Fritz, RN, director of oncology services at North Colorado Medical Center, also received nominations. 

During Schock’s acceptance speech, she asked audience members if they knew how many people save lives. She then went on to say that she is privileged to work with a hospital staff that is dedicated at all levels to saving lives in our community.

“They inspire me,” she said. “And I’m so lucky I get to do this every day.”
