SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. (Nov. 15, 2010) – Falls are a major cause of disability and death for people 65 and older, however, falls are not just the result of getting older. Falls are usually caused by a number of things, many of which can be prevented.

Pritpal (Paul) Sandhu, MD, a family medicine physician with Banner Arizona Medical Clinic, has practiced in the Sun City West area since 2008. He will share fall prevention strategies and techniques in a free community lecture to be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 4 p.m. at The Madison retirement community’s Fireplace Room, 18626 Spanish Garden Drive in Sun City West, Ariz. Those attending the presentation will receive a free home safety checklist to assess areas within their homes for fall risk.

The seminar will include time for questions from attendees, as well as free refreshments. Seating is limited for this event, so please call (602) 230-CARE (230-2273) to reserve your seat.
