Kevin Burkey receives Employee of the Quarter recognition
TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Jan. 25, 2010) —Kevin Burkey, Respiratory Therapist at Banner Health Torrington, was one of four employees nominated for Employee of the Quarter in December 2009 and was chosen by the leaders of Banner Health Torrington as the winner.
Burkey is known for being exceptionally kind with his patient and for always going the extra mile. It was Burkey’s idea to start the ‘Adopt a Patient’ program and have employees donate items to stuff in stockings for patients on Christmas morning. He also designed a card and wrote a poem to put in each stocking. Burkey is an artist and recently donated a piece of his original artwork to the nursing services Christmas party.
Burkey is known for walking people to their destination, even if that includes going outside in zero degree weather to make sure a patient gets across the street to Banner Medical Clinic safely. Burkey can be seen pushing dietary carts to the Alzheimer’s wing just to lend a hand and always has a genuine smile.
Burkey was recognized at an employee of the quarter dessert reception on January 25. Jane Hanson, LPN at Community Hospital; Pam Reichert of Evergreen Court; and Natalie Korell, Associate Administrator for Banner Health Torrington, were also recognized.
