Arlene Conte honored as Banner Boswell ‘2010 Top Doc’
SUN CITY, Ariz. (Feb. 10, 2011) – Arlene Conte, MD, a family medicine and geriatric physician with Banner Sun City Medical Group, has been named the “2010 Top Doc” award recipient at Banner Boswell Medical Center, announced Terry Loftus, MD, Chief Medical Officer, and Fredric Klopf, MD, Chief of Staff. She was presented the award at a recent medical staff meeting.
Dr. Conte is a member of Banner Boswell’s medical staff and also an attending physician with the Banner Boswell Rehabilitation Center, Honoring Norbert and Sonia Grove.
“Because creating a positive patient experience is central to the care provided at Banner Boswell, the hospital recently introduced the ‘Top Doc’ award to honor physicians who make a significant difference, as noted by hospital staff with whom physicians work alongside,” Dr. Klopf explained.
This award honors one “Top Doc” and four “Honorable Mention” recipients who have helped to enhance the patient experience by consistently and positively communicating with patients, family and staff. Dr. Conte was first to receive the award in the recently launched recognition program.
Many staff comments contributed to Dr. Conte’s selection such as: “caring and compassionate toward patients, families and staff – always smiling and upbeat”; “treats all staff with the utmost respect and kindness,” and “takes time with every patient and answers all their questions –no matter how long it takes – to make them comfortable.” Other comments include: “Her exact quote to patients and families is ‘I’m here to serve you,’” and “thanks staff for working so hard every day.” It was noted she also is “empathetic toward her patients and always takes the time to listen to their concerns.”
In addition to Dr. Conte’s top honor, physicians awarded “Honorable Mention” include John Thompson, DO, orthopedic surgeon; Delali Hevi, MD, hospitalist specializing in internal medicine; Camilla Mican, MD, thoracic surgeon; and Jeffrey Ronn, MD, pulmonologist specializing in critical care medicine.
“Many more physicians were named by staff in this award nomination process, indicating how much the physicians are thought of by their peers,” Dr. Loftus said. “We’re proud to work alongside such a dedicated team committed to serving our patients.”
