Banner Del E. Webb hosts ‘Eating Right with Diabetes’ on Dec. 8
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. (Nov. 16, 2011) – Eating right, especially for those with diabetes, can be a challenge any time of the year, but during the holidays, making healthy choices can be especially difficult. That's why Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center is hosting "Eating Right with Diabetes," a free seminar from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 in the Auditorium, located in the nonprofit hospital at 14502 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.
Jaime Lehman, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator with Banner Arizona Medical Clinic, will provide information on how foods affect blood sugar and review guidelines for carbohydrate intake to help achieve ideal blood sugar control.
“Currently 24 million Americans suffer from diabetes and the associated medical costs are soaring,” Lehman said. “The food choices you make have a big impact on your risk for diabetes and complications that may result from diabetes.”
