Banner Gateway and Banner Estrella the only hospitals in Arizona to Earn
U.S. News & World Report's ‘Most Connected’ Rankings
PHOENIX (July 22, 2011) – Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert and Banner Estrella Medical Center in West Phoenix were the only facilities in Arizona identified in U.S. News & World Report's Most Connected rankings.
This ranking recognizes 118 hospitals out of about 5,000 hospitals nationwide for demonstrating both standards of solid medicine and early adoption of information technology. Banner Gateway and Banner
Estrella were the first two Banner facilities to go live with both Electronic Medical Record and Computer Physician Order Entry simultaneously.
Every hospital included in the list is also distinguished by having captured a national ranking in the 2011-12 U.S. News Best Hospitals and/or Best Children's Hospitals rankings or by having earned the
designation of "high-performing" in one or more medical specialties. In addition, they are leaders in moving to all electronic medical records, according to HIMSS Analytics, a division of the nonprofit
Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society that analyzes use of health information technology.
