Banner Health clinic focuses on spine and sports pain
GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 9, 2011) – Banner Health broadens its scope of services in Northern Colorado with the addition of a specialist to focus on spine and sports pain.
James D. Sigler, MD, will work with patients who experience neck, back, hip, joint and muscle pain and pain related to sports activities in his new practice at Banner Health Clinic—Spine and Sports Pain.
Dr. Sigler has expertise in diagnosing and treating a variety of spine and pain conditions. He often sees patients referred to him by primary care physicians for complex or difficult conditions that require specialized knowledge and treatment. Dr. Sigler provides interventional pain treatments such as epidural steroid injections and nerve blocks.
For sports pain patients, Dr. Sigler will function similar to a non-operative orthopedic physician. He has experience working with team physicians for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and Northwestern University athletic teams and will be involved with the Northern Colorado athletics programs. In that realm, Dr. Sigler will focus on sports performance optimization and treatment of overuse injuries among athletes.
Dr. Sigler received his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed an internship at the University of Colorado, Rose Medical Center, and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Kansas University Medical Center.
In addition, Dr. Sigler completed a prestigious fellowship in spine and sports medicine at The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University.
Dr. Sigler is active in organized sports such as triathlons, marathons, basketball and softball, and a variety of outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, skiing, rafting and fly fishing. He believes in applying evidence-based medicine with a treatment focus on proven technologies and methods.
