Banner Ironwood expands to accommodate Valley growth
SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (Dec. 22, 2011) - Banner Ironwood Medical Center will open its fourth floor Jan. 4 to serve more patients in the Valley.
The $5.1 million expansion includes 12 additional inpatient beds and four more labor and delivery rooms.
Banner Ironwood first opened its doors in November 2010, caring for patients on the first three floors with 36 beds. Located on Combs and Gantzel roads, the five-story hospital has been built to expand, with the ability to hold more than 500 beds to accommodate the growth of the community.
A new nursery is also being added to the fourth floor, which will care for babies that need medical attention while their mothers are being treated.
Deb Krmpotic, chief executive officer of Ironwood, is eager to see Banner Ironwood though another level of growth.
“This expansion provides us with the ability to provide even further high-quality care, and highlights the successful impact of our partnership with the community,” said Krmpotic.
