Banner Health named Health Care's Most Wired 2011
PHOENIX (July 11, 2011) -- Banner Health has again been named one of Health Care's Most Wired companies for 2011 by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine.
The annual survey examines how hospitals use information technology to address safety and quality issues, customer service, business processes, workforce and public health and safety.
The award recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in four Information Technology areas:
- Infrastructure
- Business and Administrative Management
- Clinical Quality and Safety (Inpatient/Outpatient Hospital)
- Care Continuum(Ambulatory/Physician/Community)
Banner Health has invested heavily into its Care Transformation strategy, which is distinguished by an enhanced suite of electronic medical records, computerized provider order entry and patient identification. Banner is nearing completion of its efforts to implement Care Transformation into all of its hospitals, making Banner one of the nation’s first major health systems to offer this level of support and electronic integration into its patient care.
Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, the flagship publication of the American Hospital Association, compiles the list annually using survey results from 1,300 hospital and health systems in the United States.
