Community Healthcare Foundation donates $2,500 to Goshen Care Center
TORRINGTON, Wyo. (October 20, 2011) – The Community Healthcare Foundation donated $2,500 to the Goshen Care Center living room project this week. Goshen Care Center began raising money to update the activities room in October 2010, and has since raised over $7,500 of the $10,391 needed to complete the project.
“The donation from the Foundation will go directly toward purchasing furniture. We have the carpet installed, the game table is here, and the residents are already enjoying the space as we continue to raise funds.” said Michele Ogburn, GCC Resident Services Sr. Manager
“The room is very home-like, we all enjoy it,” said Mary Ellen Fullmer, a resident at Goshen Care Center. The project is focused on creating a home-like environment where residents can relax, read, play card games, watch television or socialize.
The Community Healthcare Foundation raises money to help support various healthcare needs throughout Goshen County. Their most recent fundraiser, Comedy Night, raised over $16,000. One-hundred precent of that money stays in Goshen County.
This year the Foundation has committed $20,000 to Community Hospital’s OB suite. The money will go toward the purchase of a new OB bed, delivery table and bassinet. Additionally, the Foundation donated $12,000 to GCC at the beginning of 2011 for a kitchen renovation, which gave residents 24-7 access to snacks and beverages.
Since being founded in 1989, the Community Healthcare Foundation has raised over $520,000 for healthcare in Goshen County.
