Loveland Little Sprint attracts 175 participants
LOVELAND, Colo. (July 27, 2011) --- One-hundred-seventy-five triathletes participated in the Loveland Little Sprint Triathlon held Saturday, July 23, raising $8,100. One hundred percent of registration fees and sponsorships benefited the KidSelf Pediatric Therapy Program at McKee.
KidSelf is a sliding-fee program set up to assist families with very young children experiencing physical, developmental and communication difficulties in covering the cost of therapy when insurance is not available.
Organizers of the triathlon, for kids ages 14 and under, hope to motivate area youth through sport to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. Participants competed in age-appropriate distances with an emphasis on fun and safety. All participants received a t-shirt and finisher’s medal with awards going to the top three in each age group.
More than 100 volunteers made this event possible assisting on the course, registering participants, providing safety on the course, and working on-site.
Major sponsorship was provided by OtterCares, Public Service Credit Union, 3x Fast, KUNC, Parent Magazine, NOCO 5 and Clif Bar.
The McKee Medical Center Foundation raises funds and friends for the health and wellness of our community.
