McKee Medical Center Turkey Trot issues Middle School Challenge
LOVELAND, Colo. (Sept. 30, 2011) – The Loveland or Berthoud middle school that has the most participants in the 2011 Turkey Trot at McKee Medical Center is in for an early Christmas present: a $250 grant courtesy of the McKee Medical Center Foundation.
The foundation, which organizes the annual 5K Thanksgiving Day race, has challenged seven middle schools to compete and see which school can send the most runners to this year’s race. The schools are Bill Reed, Conrad Ball, Lucille Erwin, Loveland Classical School, New Vision Charter, Turner and Walt Clark middle schools. Walt Clark took home the grant in 2010 with 73 participants.
The winning school will receive the grant, which can be used for a health or wellness related purpose, said Dawn Paepke, McKee Medical Center Foundation events coordinator.
Race fees and sponsorship contributions benefit the Stepping Stones Adult Day Program at McKee Medical Center.
