NCMC Foundation Gala raises over $170,000 for NCMC Cancer Institute

GREELEY, Colo. (Feb. 10, 2011) - More than 500 people attended the 22nd annual NCMC Foundation Gala, Le Grande Cirque, presented by Noble Energy at the Embassy Suites Loveland Hotel.  The event raised more than $170,000 net to support the Cancer Institute at North Colorado Medical Center.

Guests were treated to an evening of spectacular entertainment, including cirque performances by The Bella Luna Circus featuring Las Vegas acrobats Stoyan and Elena, just-for-fun gaming tables with professional dealers, and music for dancing by the Jerry Barnett Orchestra.

Two-time cancer survivor, Sean Swarner delivered his empowering message of healing, hope and triumph.

The evening also included an exquisite gourmet dinner and the opportunity to bid on more than 70 silent auction items, including exclusive vacations, box seat tickets at premiere sporting events, a jet ride, VIP seating for the upcoming U2 360 tour and more.  One lucky guest was chosen as the winner of a Color Story Pendant from the Manhattan Pave Jewelry Collection valued at $4,500 courtesy of Greeley’s Weiss Jewelers.

In addition to raising funds to support the Cancer Institute, the event serves to honor an outstanding individual or organization for distinguished service and leadership in healthcare in our community.  This year’s honoree, the Todd Family Foundation exemplifies exceptional leadership and service to our community; their generosity spans decades by supporting not only NCMC, but many other non-profit organizations as well.

Since 1975, the North Colorado Medical Center Foundation has served as NCMC’s philanthropic partner in supporting healthcare at the Medical Center and in the community.  During that time, the Foundation has been entrusted as stewards of nearly $40 million in charitable gifts.
